Ergonomics under load: vacuum conveying systems in the logistics industry

To increase work efficiency and speed, and protect the health of your employees, it is worth investing in ergonomic lifting equipment.
Now every third online shopper places multiple online orders per week. In 2019, online sales grew by more than 11% compared to the previous year. These are the results of a survey of e-commerce consumers conducted by the German trade association for e-commerce and distance selling (bevh). Therefore, manufacturers, distributors and logistics service providers must optimize their processes accordingly. To increase work efficiency and speed, and protect the health of your employees, it is worth investing in ergonomic lifting equipment. Herolift develops customized transport solutions and crane systems. Manufacturers are also helping to improve internal material flow in terms of time and cost, while focusing on ergonomics.
In intralogistics and distribution logistics, companies must move large quantities of goods quickly and accurately. These processes mainly include lifting, turning and material handling. For example, crates or cartons are collected and transferred from a conveyor belt to a transport trolley. Herolift has developed the  vacuum tube lifter for the dynamic handling of small workpieces weighing up to 50 kg.  Whether the user is right-handed or left-handed, he can move the load with one hand. With just one finger, you can control the lifting and release of the load.
With the built-in quick change adapter, the operator can easily change suction cups without tools. Round suction cups can be used for cartons and plastic bags, double suction cups and four head suction cups can be used for opening, clamping, gluing or large flat workpieces. Multiple vacuum grippers are a more versatile solution for cartons of various sizes and specifications. Even when only 75% of the suction area is covered, the grapple can still lift the load safely.
The device has a special function for loading pallets. With conventional lifting systems, the maximum stack height is typically 1.70 meters. To make this process more ergonomic,  The up and down movement is still controlled with only one hand. On the other hand, the operator guides the vacuum tube lifter with an additional guide rod. This allows the vacuum tube lifter to reach a maximum height of 2.55 meters in an ergonomic and easy way. When the workpiece is lowered, the operator can only use the second control button to remove the workpiece.
In addition, Herolift offers a wide range of suction cups for different workpieces such as cartons, boxes or drums.
As the use of networks in industry increases, so does the need to digitize manual processes in logistics. Smart processing devices are one way to simplify increasingly complex tasks. It also recognizes programmed workspaces. The result is fewer errors and higher process reliability.
In addition to a wide range of material handling equipment, Herolift  also offers a wide range of crane systems. Aluminum column or wall-mounted jib cranes are commonly used. They combine optimum low friction performance with lightweight components. This improves efficiency and speed without compromising positioning accuracy or ergonomics. With a maximum boom length of 6000 millimeters and a swing angle of 270 degrees for column jib cranes and 180 degrees for wall mounted jib cranes, the working range of lifting devices is significantly expanded. Thanks to the modular system, the crane system can be perfectly adapted to existing infrastructure at minimal cost. It also allowed Herolift to achieve a high degree of flexibility while limiting the variety of core components.
Herolift products are used worldwide in the logistics, glass, steel, automotive, packaging and woodworking industries. The wide range of products for automatic vacuum cells includes individual components such as suction cups and vacuum generators, as well as complete handling systems and clamping solutions for clamping workpieces.
